We hooked up on our very first trolling pass, but after that the bite went cold for several hours—not for lack of effort. Captain Phil never stopped working. He continually explored different areas and techniques, determined to find fish rather than simply waiting out the slow bite.

His bold decision to make a run to Billingsgate proved to be the right call. In about 30 minutes, we put six more striped bass in the boat and finished the day on a high note. Sky, the first mate, is still learning the ropes, but he was attentive, hardworking, and a pleasure to fish with. You can tell he cares about the customers and is developing into a quality mate.

Fishing isn't always easy, and successful charters are measured by effort and decision-making as much as the number of fish caught. Captain Phil and the Lady J crew demonstrated both. I'll gladly fish with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a professional, hardworking charter operation.
